Student Council

School Council is a group of pupils, elected by their peers, from P4-7. They meet regularly to discuss how they can help to make Harmony Primary School a great place for everyone. The pupils learn how to listen well and discuss ideas from each of their classes.

By collaborating closely with teachers, the School Council acts as a bridge between the pupils and the staff. They understand that effective communication and teamwork are vital in order to achieve their goals. Through their efforts, the council provides an opportunity for pupils to actively participate in decision-making processes, enabling them to develop leadership skills, critical thinking, and responsibility.

Overall, the School Council is a powerful force within the school community. By actively listening to the pupils, addressing their concerns, and striving to make a positive impact, the council creates an environment where every child feels supported, valued, and empowered.

This year, we plan to visit Stormont buildings to learn about how the assembly operates. Take part in debates and chat to local MLAs about what matters to them. While also visiting City Hall to meet our local councillors. We have lots in store for the year such as school competitions, raising money through different events, assisting with charitable fundraisers and ensuring that we are setting an example by being role models to the rest of the school.
Watch this space for all of our exciting activities that we get up to this year!
