We will support all children by:
- promoting a caring, safe and positive environment within the school
- encouraging self-esteem and self-assertiveness
- effectively tackling bullying and harassment
- promoting all aspects of the Equality Act 2010
The purpose of our safeguarding policy is to provide a secure framework for our workforce in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of each one of our pupils. It also ensures that procedures are in place so that every child who attends our school is and feels safe and protected.
The policy aims to ensure that:
- All our pupils are safe and protected from harm
- Other elements of provision, policies and guidelines are in place to enable our pupils to feel safe and adopt safe practices
- Staff, pupils, governors, visitors, volunteers, parents and carers are aware of the expected behaviours and the school’s legal responsibilities in relation to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all our pupils
E-Safety
E-Safety is an important part of keeping children safe at Harmony Primary School . We have security measures in place in school, which are monitored both internally and externally, to help safeguard pupils from potential dangers or unsuitable material. Any e-safety incidents are recorded and managed. E-Safety is taught to all pupils explaining and demonstrating how to stay safe and behave appropriately online.
We can only be successful in keeping children safe online if we work with parents to ensure the e-Safety message is consistent. It is important that parents speak to their children about how they can keep safe and behave appropriately online.
The Safer Schools digital safeguarding app is available to download on any device for parents and children. This gives advice on a range of digital issues, including safeguarding on social media platforms, bullying and emerging online trends.
